Celebrate Resistance, Freedom, and Art

Art plays a vital role in Tibetan culture, and has long been a profound tool for social and political change. Art for Tibet brings together artists and activists to celebrate, commemorate, and support the Tibetan peoples’ nonviolent freedom struggle against occupation. The auction features artwork from a diverse international pool of established and emerging artists, including a growing number of outstanding contemporary Tibetan artists.

Founded in 2009, Art for Tibet is Students for a Free Tibet’s most important annual fundraiser and enables SFT to continue its fight for the Tibetan people’s fundamental human rights and freedom. Art for Tibet will support SFT’s critical campaigns work, including its current global campaign calling for a global boycott of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, which will serve to legitimize the Chinese government despite its ongoing genocide of Uyghur Muslims, its severe repression in Tibet, and the fierce crackdown on civil liberties in Hong Kong. During this time of global strife, the Tibetan people’s non-violent struggle continues to serve as an inspiration for so many of us that want to build a new and better world.
